“I certainly want to be a part of that tour”: Mitchell Swepson eager to partner Nathan Lyon on India tour 2023 after getting dropped for West Indies Tests
The Australian team will travel to India for a test series, and this is one of the most anticipated series to be played next year. When Australia visited India last time around, the spinners of the side played really well, and Mitchell Swepson is also seeking a place on that tour.
The Australian team is one of the favourites to reach the final of the ongoing World Test Championship, and the Indian series will be important for them. Australia performed really well in Pakistan this year, and they would want to take that confidence for the Indian tour as well.
Mitchell Swepson has not been picked in the Australian team for the home series as Nathan Lyon is the sole spinner that plays in the eleven. With the Indian series in mind, Swepson is currently doing well in the Sheffield Shield and the wickets will suit him as well.

Mitchell Swepson believes that he is confident about being a part of the Australian test squad for the series against India. He said that he bowled well in the subcontinent conditions this year, and he can be a great addition on the Indian wickets. Swepson said that it can be a full cycle for him if he can get picked on that tour.
“They were pretty happy, I think, with how I bowled in Sri Lanka, which is our last Test series, so just drawing on that, I’m quietly confident that I’d be in the (selection) conversation at least, and I certainly want to be a part of that tour, there’s no doubt about that,” Mitchell Swepson said as quoted by cricket.com.au.

Swepson was a part of the Australian team on the last Indian tour, but he did not play a single game on that tour, but the Australian team overall did well on that tour. Swepson made his test debut this year, and he has scalped 10 wickets in 4 tests and all of them have been played in the subcontinent only.
