Abrar Ahmed PSL team: A Ahmed records and stats in FC cricket

After the first test in Rawalpindi, Babar Azam said that they wanted a spin-friendly pitch and their wish was finally fulfilled in the 2nd test in Multan. Keeping the conditions in mind, Pakistan added two spinners to their ranks i.e. Mohammad Nawaz and Abrar Ahmed.

England won the all-important toss, but they were not prepared for the debutant Abrar Ahmed. The visitors continued with their positive intent, but it did not pay them well here in Multan. They tried to attack the leg-spinner, but he grabbed wickets at regular intervals.

Ahmed bowled an excellent spell and scalped a 5-wicket hall in his very test match. The economy of Abrar was on the higher side, but the way he continued in his approach was outstanding to watch.

Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed proved his class in his very first test match, but it is safe to say that the journey of Abrar has not been smooth. The 24-year-old leg-spinner has so far played 14 FC matches in his career, where he has managed to scalp 76 wickets with the help of seven 5-wicket hauls.

Abrar has been great with the red ball, but he has struggled a bit with the white ball in his hand. He made his PSL debut for Karachi Kings in 2017 and coach Mickey Arthur played a big part in his selection. Although, he played just a couple of games before getting injured.

Abrar was diagnosed with a back stress fracture, which ruled him out for a couple of years from cricket. He then slowly made progress in Pakistan’s domestic cricket. In 2021, he played for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL, where he managed to scalp just three wickets in 2 matches.

Ahmed was not a part of any PSL team in the 2022 season, and it is safe to say that he can be a very interesting pick for the teams in the PSL 2023 draft that is set to take place later this month.
