The match may have ended but the repercussions of India’s thrilling win against Australia in the Bengaluru test match have only just begun. (“Outrageous!” Cricket Australia CEO hits back at Kohli !)

While it was a superb victory for India, it was marred by several controversial topics on the pitch with the most notable being the DRS incident involving Steve Smith.

After Smith was adjudged LBW, he seemingly asked his dressing room whether or not he should go for the DRS. That infuriated Kohli as this was against the rules of the game and he mouthed off some to Smith.

Before things could get any worse, the umpires got in the way and calmed things down. In the post match press conference, Kohli was still visibly angry. Virat Kohli accused the Australians of “crossing the lines you don’t cross on a cricketing field”.

While he did stop short of calling Smith a cheat, his tone suggested otherwise. (“Outrageous!” Cricket Australia CEO hits back at Kohli !)

Now Cricket Australia has hit back at Kohli and said that his accusations are simply outrageous.

“I find the allegations questioning the integrity of Steve Smith, the Australian team and the dressing room, outrageous”, Sutherland was quoted as saying in a statement.

While Cricket Australia’s defense for their team is expected, it does not bode well for Smith and his team. Smith defended himself by calling it a “brain fade” which seemed like a convenient way to let things slide. (“Outrageous!” Cricket Australia CEO hits back at Kohli !)

But Kohli did not and nor did his team. With the series locked at 1-1 with two matches to go, we can be sure that there would be more fireworks in store in the coming weeks.
