Sebastian Vettel admits that Mick Schumacher did not have ‘good environment’ at Haas F1 team
After 2 years of driving in F1, Mick Schumacher found himself out of an F1 seat for the 2023 season. Haas decided not to extend Schumacher’s contract and chose to move ahead with an experienced driver – Nico Hulkenberg.
Sebastian Vettel, who is a close friend of Schumacher believes that the environment at the Haas F1 team wasn’t the best for the young German to learn.
Speaking to Servus TV, the 4-time world champion said that it is a shame that Schumacher won’t be on the grid in 2023 and but Vettel wishes that he returns and finds a better place.
With the 23-year-old signing a reserve deal with the Mercedes F1 team, Vettel believes that it is an opportunity for Schumacher to polish his racing potential.

Lewis Hamilton is doubtful of a close relationship with Schumacher
Back in 2010, Michael Schumacher made his comeback from retirement with the Mercedes F1 team and stayed with them until the 2012 season.
Following his father’s footsteps, Mick signed a third driver role with the team and has been welcomed by the Brackley-based squad. Speaking about his signing he said that he is quite excited to start his new journey and work with top drivers – Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
However, Hamilton thinks that this might not be possible because the role of a reserve driver has changed quite a lot in the past few years.
Hamilton told media that, now reserve drivers work mostly on the simulators and have very few interactions with the on-track drivers but still he is happy to be teammates with the young Schumacher.
Mick Schumacher will reunite with Sebastian Vettel
While the 23-year-old might be out of an F1 seat heading into the 2023 season, he still has a racing activity that he can participate in to feed his adrenaline rush.
Schumacher has been confirmed as a driver to participate in the Race of Champions which is to be held in January.
Before partaking in the individual race with the greats of motorsport, he will team up with Vettel under Team Germany in the ROC Nations Cup on 28 January.
