$24 million villa owned by Kimi Raikkonen once got destroyed by hailstorm in Switzerland
Kimi Raikkonen is one of the most popular drivers in F1 history. Other than his brilliant driving performances on the track, he became famous off it because of his blunt & honest replies to journalists. He retired from the sport in 2021, but goes down as a legendary figure and remains Ferrari’s last-ever World Champion, winning the Title in 2007.
While away from F1, Raikkonen used to spend a lot of time with his family. He owned a house in his native country of Finland but was also the owner of a luxurious villa in Switzerland. This villa in Baar is located near Switzerland’s commercial capital Zurich. This property was affectionately named ‘villa butterfly by the Raikkonen family, and it cost the former Ferrari driver $24 million.

However, there was a time when a hailstorm caused severe damage to Raikkonen’s house. The Iceman took a video from his phone from the inside of his house as he recorded the havoc created by nature to his property. “Had a hail mayhem at home today,” he wrote on Instagram.
Kimi Raikkonen showed damage caused to the roof of his house
The video showed a massive hailstorm causing damage to Raikkonen’s swimming pool area, but he and his family were safe inside. As the video progressed, the extent of damage to the roof of his house also became clear.

However, it seemed as though the 2007 World Champion was not very worried, since he joked about having an ‘evening program sorted’. The entire family was going to stay in and fix their roof. The next part of the video showed his car being damaged. The back side of the vehicle was destroyed, and the windows were broken.
Just like the last clip, Raikkonen joked about this too, asking if he could make a pit-stop at the Alfa-Romeo factory tomorrow. Raikkonen spent the last three seasons of his F1 career with Alfa Romeo and left on excellent terms. The Finn was arguably one of the most unique personalities to ever grace F1, and his presence is sorely missed in the paddock today.
