SCG weather tomorrow 6 January Day 3: Current weather of Sydney Cricket Ground AUS vs SA Test
A Test series which has witnessed a team emerging as the favourite to win by the end of the second day hasn’t even witnessed one completed innings in a couple of days at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
A primary reason why only 131 overs have been bowled on the first two days of the ongoing third Test match between Australia and South Africa is the constant interference by weather gods. Not that the same wasn’t expected but weather predictions proving true is always a dejecting sign for all the stakeholders.
In the general run of things, Australia would’ve declared overnight with a first innings total of 475/4. However, they might not do it on this particular occasion in a bid to allow opening batter Usman Khawaja convert a career-best knock into a maiden double century.
Only five runs short of the mark, the 36-year old player might get a few minutes on the morning of the third day before captain Pat Cummins calls him and Matthew Renshaw back.

Sydney, a city which has had a knack of spoiling cricketing fixtures due to inclement weather conditions, is quite likely to face the wrath of nature on Friday as well. If truth be told, rain forecast for Day 3 is worse than what it was for Day 1.
As a result, don’t be surprised to see a start-stop arrangement from the first session itself tomorrow. Going by reliable weather portal AccuWeather, there’s a rain probability of 49% right at the start of play, i.e., 10:00 AM (local time).
