Kolkata Knight Riders Playing 11 today

Kolkata Knight Riders Playing 11 today: The Sportsrush presents before you KKR’s Predicted Playing 11 for their sixth match of IPL 2019.

In what will be a clash between the 2 top-placed teams on the points table, KKR will try to use their confidence to continue their winning momentum against Dhoni’s men in yellow.

When Andre Russell played some match-winning knocks for the Knight Riders earlier this season, many believed that the KKR unit is solely dependent on Russell. However, after the carnage against the Rajasthan Royals, it is clear that the Shah Rukh Khan owned team can depend on their bowlers and top-order batsmen to deliver the goods as well.

The bowlers’ performance would especially come as a huge relief for the management considering they were extremely expensive in the first few matches. However, it has never been easy for any away team at the Chepauk. KKR will have to be wary of the nature of the pitch and the fantastic spin army of the Super Kings.

Top-order

After the mayhem at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium, the protagonists Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine would be blindly chosen to open the innings yet again. Considering Narine’s fondness to spin, he might be able to put away a few of the CSK spinners during the powerplay overs.

The stylish Robin Uthappa has been a delight to watch. He will maintain his spot and look to continue doing what he does best. However, he is still in search of a really big innings and it is probably around the corner now judging by his form.

Middle-order

The Knight Riders have one of the most stable middle orders in the competition. Nitish Rana has looked in great touch and might contribute significantly at No. 4 in this match. He will especially help negate the spin threat of Tahir and Jadeja whose balls will not spin away from him.

Shubman Gill has not got much game time but he is an incredible talent. If he gets an opportunity where he can bat for a few overs, he will look to make an impact and a case for his promotion up the order.

Dinesh Karthik has led the team admirably and has also played the role of a good finisher. He can also guide a sinking ship to safety like he did against the Delhi Capitals. The man who rounds up the middle order is none other than the beast, Andre Russell. It is not possible to describe his capabilities in mere words. He would look to do what he has been doing. Hit some sixes!

Bowlers

After being smashed around the park in the first 4 matches, the KKR bowlers came back with a bang and showcased an extremely disciplined performance in Jaipur. The slowness of the pitch assisted them but it needs to be mentioned that Dinesh Karthik made some incredible decisions and maneuvered his bowlers extremely well.

The spin trio of Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine are expected to play a major role at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium where the ball is expected to keep low and provide massive assistance to the spinners. Nitish Rana might also be called upon to roll his arms.

Prasidh Krishna has been very impressive. He can bowl the quick ones as well as the slower deliveries making him a huge asset. The inclusion of Harry Gurney in place of Lockie Ferguson proved to be a masterstroke as Gurney rattled the RR batsmen with his variations and managed to win the Man of the Match award on his IPL debut. He would also be useful on the Chennai pitch.
