Shaquille O’Neal, the Laker Legend Worth Over $400 Million Revealed his Favorite Nickname and Secret to his Massive Fortune
Shaquille O’Neal is a man of err, not so many mysteries. The man’s candor is something we all should learn from. Nothing in his life is a secret. Perhaps, a part of why he is so successful is down to the fact that Shaq does not keep anything hidden.
Everything is public knowledge. So when quizzed about his favorite nickname, of course, he had an answer and more!
Yes, the man who we already and quite lovingly, in fact, refer to by his nickname has a favorite. Shaquille O’Neal has many names he goes by, the Big Diesel, Superman, and the Big Aristotle.
But which one is his favorite?
Shaquille O’Neal reveals his favorite nickname and segues into secrets behind his $400 million fortune
When asked about his favorite nickname in an episode of DocTalk Dental, where he and Dr. Jonathan Greenburg speak on sleep apnea, Shaq revealed:
“I think it’s the Big Aristotle”. When asked how it came about, he adds, “I repeated an Aristotle quote one time. I read a lot of quotes and you can tell what an individual is thinking.”
He then goes on to segue into a completely different thing. Shaq continues, “There’s another quote I like, from General Eisenhower, it goes, “The greatest leaders are the ones smart enough to hire people smarter than them”.
O’Neal then says that he was inspired and used this very quote to build his business empire.
Shaq’s $400 million fortune’s secret is a quote!
Yes, so the Laker legend claims that he applied this principle to hire people who are smarter than him in business. He is smart enough to know that he can’t know everything.
So he does the next best thing, to get people who do know everything. This is perhaps a big reason why Shaq simply does not make bad bets.
His fortune is rumored to be around $400 million, but given the sheer number of moves he has made over his lifetime, we reckon its much higher.
