Is Ja Morant Playing Tonight vs Jazz? Grizzlies Release Injury Update for 2022 Most Improved Player
The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the best teams in the league this season. After a second-round exit in the 2022 playoffs, Ja Morant and co. are looking deadlier than ever before.
In the first half of the season, the Tennessee-based franchise has managed to defeat several powerhouses such as the Nets, the Bucks, and the Sixers, among others. With a 25-13 record, Taylor Jenkins’ boys are placed #2 in the stacked Western Conference.
The Grizzlies are currently 0.5 games behind the #1 spot in the West. A win tonight will tie them with the Denver Nuggets. Hence, it is extremely crucial that Memphis grabs a win against the Utah Jazz. And for the same, Morant’s availability will be a big question on every supporter’s mind.

Ja Morant listed as “Questionable” against the Jazz
The Grizzlies are currently on a 5-game win streak. During this span, Ja has been simply phenomenal, averaging 28.2 points, 8.8 assists, and 4 rebounds per game.
However, Morant might not suit up against Lauri Markkanen and co. to begin the 3-game homestand. According to the team’s injury report, the reigning MIP has been listed as “Questionable”.
Apart from the 6-foot-2 guard, Steven Adams is also “Questionable”, while Brandon Clarke will be missing the game.
.@memgrizz status report, Jan. 8 vs @utahjazz:
QUESTIONABLE
Adams – Non-COVID Illness
Morant – RT Thigh SorenessOUT
Clarke – LT Hip Soreness
Green – LT Knee Surgery Recovery

If the 2020 Rookie of the Year was to miss out on the clash, Tyus Jones will more than likely take his role as the starting point guard. Further, the likes of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Dillion Brooks would also have to carry a chunk of the team’s offensive load.
Averaging 27.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 8 assists per game, Ja has been playing at an All-NBA level this season. His contributions have been extremely impactful, to say the least. Losing him for more than a few days will be a huge blow to the organization.
