Washington Sundar’s replacement named for the England tour
Young Indian spinner Washington Sundar who injured his ankle ahead of the first T20I against Ireland has been ruled out of the T20I and ODI series against England and his replacement has been announced.
18-year-old off spinner and part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in the IPL, Washington Sundar had to be carried off the ground with the help of the support staff in India’s first practice session in UK.
At the beginning of the UK tour, the Indian team reached London. It was in London than the team exercised and practiced in the nets. They also had a couple of training sessions in London.

It was just few hours before the match that the team finally reached Dublin and took part in their maiden training session on the ground. However, the move does not bring good news for the team as within the first hour of the training session young off spinner Washington Sundar was injured.
Washington Sundar already missed the Ireland T20Is and will also miss the England tour. Because of an injury he suffered while playing football during a training session. Why do these cricketers play football in training? Is it worth the risk? #AakashVani pic.twitter.com/txskV2t9eb

Sundar sustained an injury in his ankle and was hardly able to move. It was then that members of the support staff helped him to move outside the field.
MI all-rounder Krunal Pandya has been announced as his replacement for the T20Is. KXIP bowling all-rounder Axar Patel will replace him in the Indian ODI squad.
It would be great opportunity for someone like Krunal Pandya to get a hang of the International circuit ahead of the 2019 World Cup. Axar too is with the India A team in England and is aware of the conditions. If given a chance, this would help him in his performances.
