Mohamed Salah posts cryptic tweet after Spain loses in the round-of-16
Egypt were knocked out in the group-stages, where they finished fourth.
Spain faced a miraculous upset at the hands of host nation Russia yesterday night. Russia won the match on penalties after Spain’s highly coveted ‘tiki-taka’ football failed to see the European heavyweights off in 120 minutes. Igor Akinfeev, the Russian goalkeeper made two great saves, while David De Gea failed to stop a single shot, as Russia won 4-3 on penalties.
The hosts will now face Croatia, who also oversaw a penalty-shootout victory against Denmark in round-of-16.
After Spain’s loss, many took to Twitter to express their shock and disappointment. However, one tweet raised many eyebrows. It was from Egypt and Liverpool’s forward, Mohamed Salah.
Some might think it’s over but it isn’t over. There needs to be change.

The Egyptian’s relationship with Spain’s captain Sergio Ramos has been on tides ever since the Champions League final. Ramos’ challenge on Salah forced him out of the field, and the subsequent injury kept him on the sidelines for Egypt’s first game against Uruguay.
Some believe that Salah’s tweet was aimed at Sergio Ramos.

While it is not known what Mohamed Salah actually meant by the tweet, we may now have a fair idea of what it was foreshadowing.
Liverpool’s official twitter account, a few minutes ago, announced a new five-year contract for Mohamed Salah.
