The Los Blancos are in complete disarray and the lack of leaders and quality at times have bitten their back in the last year. Sergio Ramos invited Florentino Perez to his house and expressed his equivocal future which remains in the air as Ramos has started assessing his options in the transfer window.
Once the meeting concluded, two parties agreed to continue with the talks in the coming days to analyze what is the best decision for both parties. The 31-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the Los Blancos and he is yet to extend his deal beyond that year. There is no doubt that the skipper has underperformed in the recent season, but he is still the most important defender in the backline for the Los Blancos.
If he is desiring to leave the club, Florentino Perez will have no option to let him leave and sign a defender with high ceiling than him currently. Zidane has already bought Eder Militao for the backline, and it remains doubtful if he would go back to reinforce the backline unless it’s entailed.
