Ferrari slam Mercedes over ‘shameful’ comments
The Raikkonen crash has left the Mercedes camp fuming, as twice in the last two races, two different Ferraris have messed up the race for two different Mercedes cars.
Raikkonen did get a 10 second penalty, but Mercedes were not impressed with what had transpired on the race track.
Hamilton was extremely unhappy after the race, and raised serious questions about the tactics used by Ferrari.
“Our team did an amazing job this weekend, we have so much support and so much pressure for us all,” Hamilton said.
“Interesting tactics I would say from their side, but we will do what we can to fight them and improve in the next races.” he added.
Toto Wolff was quizzed about his view of the entire incident and how his team felt about it too.
“A racing incident. Unfortunate because Le Castellet first time we got taken out and now it is the second time we got taken out.
“It is a lot of constructor points. In [technical director] James Allison’s words, ‘do you think it is deliberate or incompetence?’. So this leaves us with a judgement.” he said.
After Arrivabene was told about Allison’s comments about Ferrari’s tactics, Arrivabene absolutely rammed into Allison and Mercedes. Allison was previously the technical director of Ferrari before making the switch to Mercedes.
“If he really said that, he should be ashamed. He worked for Ferrari for many years. You have to be elegant. We are in England, they want to teach us how to be a gentleman, but he should be the first [to learn]” Arrivabene said.
“And incompetent who? Kimi? Who is he to judge what a driver does in the car? I accept anything from Jacques [Villeneuve], because he was a driver, but from that guy [Allison], no” he added.
