Roger Federer reveals future plans after shock loss to Kevin Anderson

Roger Federer lost to South African tennis star Kevin Anderson in an intense five-setter.

The Swiss tennis star, who was pinned to win the Wimbledon 2018, suffered a shock loss at the hands of Kevin Anderson of South Africa. Anderson lost the first two set but came back stronger in the next three, winning the last set 13-11.

Roger Federer’s game-play looked tentative right from the beginning of the match, and Kevin Anderson capitalised on the Swiss’ loose shots.

Ever since his loss, speculations grew regarding his future, especially at the All England’s Club. At an age of 36, many thought that they have seen the final game of Roger Federer at Wimbledon.

However, Federer confirmed his future in the post-match interview.

“Yeah, I don’t know how long it’s going to take me. It might take me a while. Might take me half an hour. I have no idea what it’s going to be,” Federer said.

“Of course, the goal is to come back here next year. I wouldn’t call it ‘unfinished business.’ I felt like I did some good business here in the past already (smiling),” Federer added.

“So I’m all right. Just disappointed now,” concluded the Swiss star.

Roger Federer played at the Court no. 1 for the first time in three years, but dismissed claims that it had any impact on his performance.

“I don’t think it would have changed if I played there last year. It’s not like I would have remembered exactly how it would have felt,” said Federer.

“I don’t think it really mattered, to be honest. I had my chances and blew them, so… That’s my problem really,” added the Swiss.
