Dhoni tells Kohli to take DRS to help Kuldeep take his 3rd wicket in the first England ODI

Indian veteran keeper-batsman MS Dhoni told Virat Kohli to go for a review as this helped Kuldeep Yadav to pick up his 3rd wicket of the innings.

India won the toss and put England to bat first. On a Trent Bridge wicket at Nottingham, it felt as if 350 would be a par score. There was always fear that the English batsman were going to get after the Indian bowlers from ball one and then there would be mayhem all around.

However, as it turned out, India opened its bowling with Umesh Yadav and Siddharth Kaul. Both the bowlers were on the money from the first ball and did not allow England to get away easily.

However, the pitch was so flat and the boundaries were so small that despite that England were going at a quite healthy run rate.

All changed when spinner Kuldeep Yadav came to the picture. Kuldeep broke through in his first over dismissing Jason Roy for 38. On the very first ball of his next over, he dismissed Joe Root who is the best batsman in the English line up as far as ODIs are concerned.

On the second last ball of the same over, Kuldeep bowled a wrong one which rendered Bairstow to lunge forward.

However, he failed to pick the delivery as the ball spun and hit his back pad. The Umpire did not rule Bairstow out.

Kuldeep was sure that he had got is man as he went to Kohli and Dhoni and begged for the DRS. Dhoni after some thought told Kohli to go for it and India took the review.

As it turned out, there were all three reds as the ball was pitching within the wicket, hitting within the wickets and ultimately hitting the stumps. The decision was overturned and Kuldeep got his 3rd wicket.
