Sourav Ganguly names Rohit Sharma as the 2nd most valuable Indian player
Indian cricket is going from strength to strength since the turn of the century. There are many factors bringing out this change, but the biggest and most important are the players themselves. One of the most important and undoubtedly, the most talented of all, is Rohit Sharma.
Rohit Sharma has been in sublime form of late. With two back to back not out hundreds against England in limited overs cricket, is accumulating him praises all around the globe.

Sourav Ganguly is one of the most influential Indian skippers in bringing in the fierce and competitive revolution in Indian cricket. And Ganguly reckons that Rohit Sharma is backbone and 2nd most MVP for India after Virat Kohli, as far as limited overs cricket is concerned.
Ganguly also feels that there is still enough time for Rohit to make an impact in Test cricket, which the whole country is readily waiting for.
“In the limited-overs format, after Virat Kohli, the most valuable player has been Rohit. And I still believe that there’s enough time for Rohit to make a major impact in Test cricket. There’s a saying, ‘One afternoon makes somebody a hero’. One innings is all it takes,” he said.
Since 2013, India has been blessed with three world-class top order batsmen. These players have done the major part of batting for the team, and that has been the difference, feels Ganguly.
“Class batting by Rohit. It was the only time that would tell a different tale and Rohit has come out with some amazing innings. The timing of the shots, the sixes and when players like him stick on, they’ll go all the way. The difference between the two sides have been the top order batsmen,” Ganguly told IndiaTV.
Ganguly had a lot of praises for Indian skipper Virat Kohli and he is very confident about Kohli’s chance of conquering England in test cricket, once for all.
“People keep stating that Virat hasn’t yet conquered England. There’s a huge difference between him in the four years. He will make a century and leave. If you don’t get Dhawan, Rohit and Virat out early, you’re in deep trouble. They’re the backbone of the team and are absolute powerhouses,” Ganguly said.
