The Indian Wicket Keeper, Wriddhiman Saha left everyone stunned with his batting on Saturday as he created a world record by scoring a 100 of just 20 balls for the Mohun Bagan Club.

Saha was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and the Hyderabad franchise would be relishing the fact that Saha has hit top form just before the IPL.

The match was between Mohun Bagan and B.N.R Recreation Club, J.C. Mukherjee T-20 local cricket tournament organized by Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

Mohun Bagan restricted the opposition to just 151/7 in 20 overs, in reply Saha and the skipper of Mohan Bagan opened the innings.

Right from the first delivery, Saha smashed the bowlers to every part of the ground. He reached his 50 in just 12 balls and 100 in just 20 balls. He reached his century by hitting a six and also scored the winning runs.

17 deliveries is the fewest taken by a batsman to a century, now Saha is the  fastest Indian to score a three figure in an official match. In the innings, he smashed 14 sixes and 4 fours at an amazing strike rate of 510.

“I don’t know whether this is a record or not. I tried to play different shots and had that in mind ahead of the IPL,” Saha told reporters after the match.

“From ball one I could feel the ball was hitting the middle of my bat and so I went for it,” the 33-year-old added.

Asked if he feet he deserved a place in the One-Day and T20I side as well, Saha said, “It’s up to the selectors. My job is to keep performing whenever I get an opportunity.”

Saha also stated that he likes to open but SRH has already got David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan.

“I always like to open the batting in T20s. But we have Warner and Shikhar there so I am ready to bat anywhere for my team,” he said.

Sunrises Hyderabad will play their first IPL match of the upcoming season on 9th April against Rajasthan Royals.
