Calum Chambers set for medical at Fulham ahead of season-long loan move
The English defender is reportedly set to have a medical at the London club for a season-long loan move.
English centre-back Calum Chambers is set to leave Arsenal on loan again, after the player failed to break-in to first team in 2017-18.
Chambers joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2014, and made 48 Premier League appearances for the club. He, however, couldn’t establish himself as a first-choice defender for the Gunners under Arsene Wenger.
Chambers was loaned out to Middlesbrough in the 2016-17 season, but could only make 12 league appearances on his return to Arsenal a season later. In his four years, he played 83 matches for Arsenal.
English outlet Daily Mail now reports that Chambers has decided to leave on loan again due to lack of opportunities. The newly-promoted side Fulham, who have been quite active in the transfer market, is the likely destination for the defender. Daily Mail claims that Chambers is set to have a medical with the club.

Calum Chambers sees his opportunity at the club limited under new head-coach Unai Emery, even after the retirement of Per Mertesacker and Koscielny’s hints at leaving the club at the end of contract. However, this comes as a surprise as Unai Emery insisted that Chambers will be the part of his plans for the season.
“I’m delighted Calum has extended his stay with us. He played an important role last season and will be part of my plans this season,” Emery said after the defender signed a new contract with the club.
