“Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson Are Petty Kings!”: Kevon Looney Hilariously Describes Warriors’ Core Trio
The Golden State Warriors are headed to a familiar place. Playing in their seventh playoffs in nine years, the defending champions have again earned their way to the big stages. It’s up to Stephen Curry and co. now to show the rest of the world that they still own the platform.
In 2022, the Warriors surprised nearly everyone when they strung their epic playoff run together. They went 16-6 in the playoffs to win the 2022 NBA Championship. This came right after missing the playoffs two years in a row.
During that time, Klay Thompson was dealing with two career-altering injuries. There was a lot of noise around the team. Many naysayers had counted them out from ever making the Finals again, let alone winning them. Well, they won, and they were petty about it. Here’s what Kevon Looney had to say about the same.
Kevon Looney calls Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green ‘petty Kings’
The Warriors made their way back to the playoffs after a rather rough season. They had to deal with two Stephen Curry injuries, Andrew Wiggins‘ absence, and a rather abysmal road record. During that time, a lot of people once again had a lot to say about the defending champions.
Talking about all the noise around the Warriors, Kevon Looney shared how the core trio deals with them. He said,
“That’s what Steph, Draymond & Klay do. They hear all the noise… Those 3 are definitely the ‘petty kings.'”
“That’s what Steph, Draymond & Klay do. They hear all the noise…You don’t think they do, but then they do a press conference & talk about stuff from 6 months ago. I don’t even know how they saw it. Those 3 are definitely the ‘petty kings.'”

That sounds about right. Ever since the 2022 Playoffs, the trio hasn’t left a single chance to be Petty. Why would they? They were ridiculed when they were at their lowest, and when they rose back to the top, it was time they let the others hear about it.
Can the Petty Kings lead the Warriors back to the Promised land?
No matter how tough the regular season was for the Warriors, no team is particularly excited to face them in the post season. A huge reason for the same is their core trio and their ‘Championship DNA.’
If anyone had doubts about the team, they squandered them last year. This year, they’re looking lethal again. Stephen Curry is well, Stephen Curry. Klay Thompson looks better than ever, registering 300+ 3s for the season. Draymond Green is a beast defensively. Jordan Poole has grown a lot. Andrew Wiggins is back, GP2 is back. Donte DiVincenzo is incredible. Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody have grown a lot.
The Dubs have a solid team, and with the core trio leading the charge, they have a good shot at repeating their success.
