Charles Leclerc Opens Up on His Relationship With Pierre Gasly After Attending Monte Carlo Masters Together
Charles Leclerc has opened up on how he felt about taking time away from F1 and attending the Monte Carlo Masters event on Sunday with Pierre Gasly. The two star F1 drivers attended the men’s doubles final between the team of Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek against the pairing of Sam Weissborn and Romain Arneodo.
Leclerc and Gasly seemed hooked onto the tennis match that was eventually won by the pairing of Dodig and Krajicek in three sets. Dodig and Krajicek won the match by a set score of 6-0, 4-6, 14-12.
‘We are also good friends outside the track’: Leclerc on his relationship with Gasly
In a video put up by the Twitter handle of the Monte Carlo Masters event, Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly shared their thoughts about attending the men’s doubles final together. Ahead of the match, Leclerc had said, “I am really excited. It is one of the biggest events of the year here in Monaco. Since I am from Monaco, I am really happy to be here”.
The Monegasque then went on to share his thoughts about his relationship with Gasly by referring to him as his ‘good friend’. The 25-year-old stated that he is attending the event with his best friend Pierre Gasly. While the two are rivals during a race, Leclerc revealed they are ‘also good friends outside the track’.
After Leclerc, Gasly shared his thoughts about attending the tennis event by stating that it was his first time in Monte Carlo for the Masters’ tournament. He said that he was delighted to follow the finals as he loves the competition.
Hoping this gets liked by @PierreGASLY 😉

Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly have a mediocre start to 2023 F1 season
Both Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly have had an extremely disappointing start to their F1 2023 season. After the first three races, Leclerc has just scored six points and finds himself tenth in the championship. He is 14 points behind his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz and a staggering 63 points behind championship leader Max Verstappen.
On the other hand, Gasly’s start to his life at Alpine has been far worse than expected. The Frenchman has just scored four points after three races for a team that finished fourth in the championship last year.
He is currently 14th in the championship and level on points with Valtteri Bottas, Oscar Piastri, and Alpine teammate Esteban Ocon. Following a mediocre start to their 2023 season, both Leclerc and Gasly will hope to bounce back when they get to the race track next in Baku. The Azerbaijan GP will take place from April 28 to 30.
