Is Anthony Davis Injured? Lakers Forward Appears to Suffer Stinger Injury in Game 1 vs Grizzlies
The LA Lakers may have to deal with fielding a hobbled Anthony Davis, who pulled up with a shoulder injury during the 2nd quarter of Game 1.
Anthony Davis and his LA Lakers started off in great fashion, wresting a first-quarter lead on the road. The Grizzlies are entering this game on the back of the best home record in the NBA (35-6).
The 2nd-seeded team staged a comeback during the 2nd quarter, however. With some crucial shots from the likes of Luke Kennard, Desmond Bane and All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr, Memphis entered halftime in possession of a 65-59 lead.
Anthony Davis suffered an injury in a collision
One of the turning points of the game came when Anthony Davis clashed with Ja Morant as he went up for a layup. Morant didn’t get the free throws he wanted, but their collision seemed to put Anthony Davis into discomfort.

The Lakers called for a timeout, but the damage had been done.

Davis seemed to barely be able to move his arm after the fact. The 8-time All-Star had to go back to the locker room to receive further treatment.
The Grizzlies took full advantage of the Lakers missing their best defender. They generated some nice looks from range and turned the game on its head. The Lakers, meanwhile, were already on an offensive drought when AD was forced off the floor.
