“I’m Seeking a Championship!”: Klay Thompson Addresses Contract Rumors Issued by ESPN Insider, Talks About E-40
The Golden State Warriors are in Sacramento to take on the Kings for Game 2 tomorrow. After losing Game 1 last night, the Warriors didn’t seem to have lost their spirit. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have seen a lot together, and going down 0-1 isn’t anything new for them.
They just got Andrew Wiggins back, who will take some time to get back to game speed. Even though the shooters had an off night, the Dubs weren’t too off, losing Game 1 123-126. At a time when Klay and the team need to focus and look to get back strong at Game 2, Adrian Wojnarowski dropped a bomb.
According to ESPN Insider, Klay is looking for a max extension this summer, and may change ships if he doesn’t get the same.

Even though Klay wasn’t asked about the same after Game 1, he was sure asked about it after practice today.
Klay Thompson addressed Woj’s contract extension report
Klay Thompson is someone who doesn’t speak a lot, but when he does, he doesn’t mince his words. When asked about the rumors in the air about his contract extension, here is what the Warriors’ star said,
“ I’m seeking a championship. And everything else after that will play itself out.”

Klay is a big part of why the Warriors are in the playoffs this year. He’s had an incredible season, and put up numbers better than any of his previous seasons in the league. Now, what Klay said makes total sense. If he can help lead the Dubs to their 5th title in 9 years, it’ll make a strong case for him to get paid.
The new salary cap in the CBA is going to cause a lot of troubles to Joe Lacob and Peter Guber. This is all conversation for the future, and currently, we should focus on the series at hand.
Klay defends E-40 against ejection, speaks up for rapper
E-40 is one of the most loyal Golden State Warriors fans. The rapper can be seen in attendance quite regularly and has been doing so for many years. Speaking about his ejection from the arena in Sacramento, Klay said,
“Unfortunate, I love 40. He’s been our biggest supporter for years & I hope they right that ship… In my time knowing him he’s always been respectful & considerate of those around him so it was very weird to see & I hope it’s resolved.”

Hopefully, the Kings’ management can verify what happened and rectify the situation before Game 2 tomorrow night.
