Lewis Hamilton Watches Brother Nicolas Hamilton’s “Special” Performance in Donington

Lewis Hamilton and his brother Nicolas share an incredibly close relationship. As Hamilton stated on several occasions before, they supported each other tremendously while growing up. This was very important for Nicolas, who had to overcome a lot of obstacles in his life.

Nicolas, who suffers from cerebral palsy ultimately realized his dream of becoming a racing driver, which Hamilton cites as inspiring. Currently, he competes in the British Touring Car Championship and was taking part in a race in Donington Park earlier this week.

Lewis Hamilton usually does not get the time to attend events outside of F1, but because we are in the middle of a long break, the 38-year-old took time out to cheer for his brother. Hamilton traveled to Donington Park and took to his social media account to show support for his younger brother.

Lewis Hamilton hails brother Nicolas’ special performance

Nicolas Hamilton finished P6 in the race his older brother attended earlier this week and the seven-time F1 champion was delighted to watch his brother’s “special performance”.

“I haven’t been to Donington in a long time,” Hamilton writes. “I was so excited to watch and support my brother there today as a normal spectator. Felt really special. I’m so proud of you bro. 6th place today was such a special result and you truly deserve it. Keep pushing.”

Nicolas’ 6th place result was the best of his career, and Lewis Hamilton being ecstatic about it, shared and reposted his younger brother’s story on his account.

Nicolas Hamilton endured a difficult childhood due to his disability. He was born two months early and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, because of which he had to undergo multiple surgeries. In his book, My Life, Lewis talks about the traumatic time they had to go through in their childhood.

However, he also reveals that they always supported each other. Even though Nicolas was disabled, he never gave up his dream of becoming a racing driver, and went on to become the person he always wanted to be. Because of his cerebral palsy, the 31-year-old has to race in a specially modified car.
