"Where Could He Go?": No Garage for Lewis Hamilton Except Mercedes; Claims Haas Boss

Lewis Hamilton has gained massive success with Mercedes. Under their brilliance, the Silver Arrows have enabled him to add six world titles to his personal tally. However, over the last two years, the team has failed to give him a car that can compete at the top.

Therefore, it has pushed some speculations around Hamilton’s future with Mercedes. However, Haas boss Guenther Steiner thinks the seven-time world champion can’t do better than his current team right now.

Though, for Steiner, the only better side than the Silver Arrows right now is Red Bull. But as per Steiner, they are too busy investing in his rival Max Verstappen instead of the most successful F1 star.

“Where could he go? Honestly, I don’t know,” Steiner said to the Mail on Sunday. “Red Bull have put everything on Max. Max is their man. Why would they now change Max for Lewis?”

Ferrari was an option for Lewis Hamilton?

Amidst Mercedes’ struggles, Hamilton was once again heavily linked to Ferrari. On the other hand, Charles Leclerc’s rumors about Mercedes are also heating up. Would the two teams have a swap?

Seems unlikely, as no team would be gaining from the whole transaction. Mercedes needs a veteran, who can inspire them to a resurgence, while they have a charismatic youth in George Russell, so Leclerc’s addition would be redundant.

On the other hand, Ferrari needs Leclerc, as he is touted to be a future world champion. Though Hamilton would be a great addition to the side, but wouldn’t fancy it at the cost of the Monegasque. Carlos Sainz may become a part of the deal, but even that seems a hard exchange.

Loyal to Mercedes

While reports of Hamilton departing Mercedes are spreading like wildfire, the seven-time world champion has reiterated his loyalty to Mercedes at every step. Even after that, some of the voices in the paddock aren’t ready to accept his deep commitment.

Former F1 driver Gerhard Berger has claimed that Hamilton’s loyalty to his team doesn’t mean anything in the sport. According to the Austrian driver, if Mercedes doesn’t get better and Red Bull doesn’t give a call, then the Briton might give Ferrari a second thought.

Nevertheless, Hamilton would now be hopeful with Mercedes. Over the past few weeks, the Brackley-based team has made some major personnel changes and is also deemed to bring huge upgrades to the car. So, the W14 could perform better in the year ahead, even if not par at Red Bull.
