Robert Kubica was told by Renault that his left hand attributes were 35% better than the best
Robert Kubica finds himself without a seat in F1 this season, but the experienced driver is knocking on the door of Williams, especially after Lawrence Stroll buying Force India.
Lawrence Stroll would be bringing his son Lance Stroll to Force India soon enough, thereby creating a vacancy at Williams, one that Kubica could gleefully accept.
Kubica had suffered multiple fractures in his right arm and leg in a crash during the Ronde di Andora rally.
“Surgeons are trying to re-establish the functionality of his right hand…but Robert is very strong and he will do it.” Kubica’s manager had said after the crash.
At that time, Kubica was driving for Renault and had apparently been in talks with Ferrari for a move the subsequent year.
However, the accident ended Kubica’s hopes of becoming a world champion, one that a lot of drivers expected him to be.
Kubica has now revealed what happened when Renault had invited him for a few tests in 2017.
Renault had found out that Kubica’s left hand attributes were at least 35% better than the best results that they had seen.
“A year ago Renault invited me to a medical center where they checked a lot of things. It turned out that my results when it comes to precision, speed and strength of the left hand were at least 35% better, from the best results they saw.” Robert Kubica said.
“Rok temu Renault zaprosiło mnie do centrum medycznego, gdzie sprawdzali wiele rzeczy. Okazało się, że moje wyniki, jeśli chodzi o precyzję, szybkość i siłę lewej ręki były co najmniej o 35% lepsze, od najlepszych wyników, jakie widzieli.”
