Jimmy Butler’s ‘Heat’ Wave Has Miami Native F1 Driver Reliving LeBron James Era

Logan Sargeant represents the Stars and Stripes as the only driver from across the pond in F1. With a majority of his competition having European roots, the hometown hero arrives in Miami pumped to be back home. A 305 boy through and through, he has a little fanboy moment over Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.

In a recent video for GQ, the Williams F1 driver unpacks his essentials, which included a proud No. 22 Miami Heat jersey. Explaining his childhood love for the champions, Sargeant explained it all started with the Big Three.

“Growing up as a kid in South Florida, I was in the prime of D-Wade, LeBron, Chris Bosh, in Miami, winning championship. I remember going to the games as a kid, and it’s always sat close to my heart.” In the spirit of the 2006 championship, Sargent gives a quick shout-out to their current hero.

Now, Jimmy Butler has soared through the playoffs this season, and it’s given Sargant enough rope to hold on to. “We got Jimmy Butler now, and he’s crushing it, so it’s good to see.

The Heat fanboy continues to live in his memories of basketball, recalling his days of witnessing a legacy take form. Looking back, he remembered one thrilling emotion every basketball dreams of experiencing once. Court-side tickets, Heats v Celtics, 2010.

Sargeant was rightfully reminded of Butler when thinking about LeBron James. In fact, over the last couple of seasons, it hasn’t been shocking to find the two names in the same sentence.

For example, look at the 2023 playoffs, he overthrew the number one seed in his conference, the Milwaukee Bucks. And it wasn’t easy. But it was hunting season for Butler and the Bucks were his prey.

Games 4 and 5 stand out as prime examples of what this beast is capable of. Dropping 56 and 42 points respectively, it’s time to put some respect on the #22 jersey.

And so, he joins the same league as LeBron James, breaking the King’s Miami Heat record of 49 points, and becomes the fourth-most scored points in NBA playoff history.

Now, the Heats battle it out with the New York Knicks and you best believe Butler is unfazed. As Sargeant joins thousands of fans for a nail-biting semi-final led by Jimmy Buckets, it’s time for the team in Red to return to the NBA finals.
