Stephen Curry Gets Promising Injury Update From Steve Kerr for Matchup Against Lakers, Klay Thompson Reacts
The Golden State Warriors managed yet another double-digit comeback tonight, as they hosted the New Orleans Pelicans. This completes their 5-0 homestand. A fourth straight contest where they came back from a double-digit deficit to win the game in the 2nd half. And, all that happened with Stephen Curry out with injury.
What’s exciting for the Warriors’ fans is that Steph is making good progress on his foot injury. Getting injured against the Mavericks before the All-Star break, the Warriors have sure missed their leader. In his absence, though, they’ve managed a 14-12 record so far this season.
Steph has been scrimmaging with the team. Yesterday, Steve Kerr said that Steph might play against the Lakers on Sunday. Tonight, he further commented about the same.
Steve Kerr delivers update on Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson talks about his return
Having won five games in a row, the Warriors head to Los Angeles for the first of a three-game road trip on Sunday. Facing the Lakers, the Warriors are expected to get a huge boost, with Stephen Curry returning to court.
After the game tonight, Steve Kerr talked about Curry’s impending return. He talked about confirming with the training staff, but he feels Steph will play.
Steve Kerr on what will go into the decision if Steph Curry will play on Sunday:
“We’ll talk to the training staff tomorrow and we’ll just go from there. I think there’s a chance he’ll play.”

Of course, when someone talks about Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson can never be too far behind. Talking about his Splash Brother’s return, Klay talked about how excited the entire team is.

It’s going to be amazing to see Steph play with this version of Klay. In all of our years of watching them play, we’ve never seen Klay step up like a leader like this.
Klay Thompson has been balling out in Steph’s absence
Over the past month or two, Klay Thompson has shown us that he has not only fully recovered, but is better than ever. He’s averaging career-best ppg over the last two months. He’s also taken up the onus of leadership on the court, is actively making plays for others and is rebounding the ball more. Oh, and on top of that, his defense has been stellar.
Klay Thompson this month:
— 25.5 points per game
— 2 games with 12 threes
— Most threes made (59)
— Most threes per game (5.3)
— Highest 3P% with 4 3s per game (45.4%)He has also shot his best 3P% (45.4) and TS% (61.9) in a month this season 📈 pic.twitter.com/LSKo27wGZd

If Klay manages to keep this form up, even with Curry back, the Warriors are going to be a scary team with four deadly scorers who can get whatever shots they want.
