Indian badminton result: Men’s team beat Maldives 3-0 to reach next round
TheSportsRush brings to you the latest Indian badminton result of the men’s team as they took Maldives in the first round.
India cruised into the second round at the men’s team event in badminton as they emerged winners against Maldives. India defeated Maldives 3-0 to reach the next round of the event.
Srikanth Kidambi, HS Prannoy and B Sai Praneeth took no time to beat their Maldivian opponents in the first round of the men’s team event.
India will now take on the host nation Indonesia in the next round, which is also the quarterfinal at the men’s event.

In the other games, Nepal defeated Pakistan 3-1 to set up a quarterfinal clash against Chinese Taipei, who received a bye. Japan defeated Malaysia 3-0 and will now face the winners between South Korea and Thailand. The fourth quarterfinal will be played between China and Hong Kong.
In the women’s team event, Chinese Taipei defeated Pakistan to meet Thailand in the quarterfinals, while Maldives defeated Nepal in a closely fought match, which ended 3-2. The Island nation will face a tough opponent in China in the quarterfinals of the women’s event.
India received a bye and will face Japan, while South Korea awaits the result of the match between Hong Kong and Indonesia.
The quarterfinals in both, men’s and women’s category will be played tomorrow. The men’s single’s event will begin on August 23, while women’s singles will commence a day later.
The final of the men’s and women’s team event will be played on August 22.
