“WWE Rewrites Wrestling History to Benefit Them” – Former WWE Superstar Claims Hall of Fame Inductions Depend on Relation with the Promotion

WWE is the most well-known wrestling promotion in the world. Naturally, their Hall of Fame inductions mean more than any other. However, former WWE star Chavo Guerrero believes that the promotion has too much control on the inductions. The nephew of Eddie Guerrero claims that WWE only inducts performers that are on good terms with them and when wrestlers turn them down, they rewrite history to come out smelling like roses.

The former WWE star did not hold back in his criticism of the promotion. He claimed that his statements were not coming from a bitter place, before he explained exactly what he thought was wrong with the promotion.

Chavo Guerrero claims Hall of Fame inductions depend on relation with WWE

During a conversation with Bill Apter for “WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda,” Chavo Guerrero discussed WWE’s tendency to reshape wrestling history. He cited the NFL as an example, stating that the sports body did not withhold Hall of Fame inductions even if they had an issue with said player.

“I don’t care if a player is in a lawsuit with the NFL, or there’s an issue with the player, if that player is deserving of being in the Hall of Fame, they put him in the Hall of Fame.”

“WWE will only put wrestlers in the Hall of Fame that they are still on good terms with. Well, some people turn them down. But WWE rewrites wrestling history a little bit to benefit them. Everybody knows that.”

Chavo Guerrero called out Rey Mysterio for latching on to Eddie Guerrero

Recently inducted WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio paid his respects to his late friend Eddie Guerrero at this year’s WrestleMania. The masked luchador walked out to Eddie’s theme song alongside Snoop Dogg. While the wrestling world praised Mysterio for his tribute, Chavo Guerrero expressed his exasperation with it.

The former WWE Superstar claimed that Mysterio was latching onto the Guerrero name for his benefit. He thanked for keeping the Guerrero family name alive but added that the family was tired of it already.

“I’m sorry that you have to latch on to the Guerrero family. Thank you for keeping Eddie’s name alive, but we don’t need you, we’re good.”

Chavo then joked, asking Mysterio to donate money to Eddie’s daughters to prove that the tributes were indeed in good faith and not for his own benefit. He tweeted:

“If @reymysterio is really mentioning the Guerrero name only in tribute & not to line his own pockets with cash, maybe he’ll donate some of that money to Eddie’s daughters.”

Rey Mysterio is yet to make a statement on the comments.
