Resurfaced Photo of Toddler Max Verstappen Proves How Serious He Was About Racing in F1
Max Verstappen has presumed the role of a generational talent. The 2x champion does not accept anything but winning, and racing is his sole passion. Critics believe the Dutchman has only been this way since he started racing in F1 in 2015. However, old photos of the Dutchman show he was born to race in the big leagues.

Fans were floored looking at the cute baby, curiously staring down at the camera. However, fans admired the Dutchman’s interest in cars even at an age where he couldn’t talk properly!
At what age did Verstappen start Karting?
Racing has always been in Max Verstappen’s blood. He is the son of former karting champion Sophie Kumpen and former F1 driver Jos Verstappen. The racer looked up to his mother and started karting at the tender age of 7.
However, upon noticing his son’s talent, his father, Jos, was responsible for making Verstappen a successful racing driver. However, his father was known for giving him some tough love. Jos made his son practice in the cold and tolerated no excuses from his son.
There is also a famous anecdote of Jos leaving his son at a gas station after an argument. His father wanted the Red Bull driver to have a successful F1 career and win titles, something Jos himself failed to achieve.
The tough love did work as the youngster rose through the ranks. He won the 2013 World Karting championship, becoming the youngest driver to achieve it. After a strong showing in the 2014 F3 championship, he was selected by Toro Rosso for the 2015 season. He became the youngster driver to race in F1 at the age of 17 years and 166 days. And the rest is history!
