Fernando Alonso Drops Truth Bombs on Ferrari Referencing His Years at Service: “More Inconsistency in Maranello Now”
Fernando Alonso was in service for Ferrari from 2009 to 2014. At this time, he was their leading contender for the championship, but like now, Ferrari made mistakes that cost them championships back then too. However, in a major moment of throwing truth bombs, the Spaniard calls the situation at Ferrari worse than his own time.
“With Ferrari, we were always there every year. We never made mistakes and we fought for the World Championship until the last race on two occasions. Fortunately, for me and also for Aston Martin, there is more inconsistency in Maranello now than in the seasons in which I was there”, Alonso said in an interview with Sky Italia.
If data is seen, Ferrari has slipped from its 2022 position. The most successful F1 side isn’t even close to contesting for the title this year. Whereas last year’s champions, Red Bull, are flying away with the championship.

Good for Aston Martin
With Ferrari going down, Aston Martin got blessed. Nothing to take away from them, the Silverstone-based team has done a spectacular job designing the new car, and indeed is the second fastest car on the grid.
However, with the weaker challenge by Ferrari and even Mercedes, it has been easier for Alonso to pick podiums for Aston Martin. So, it’s only commercially and competitively better for Aston Martin.

But Ferrari and Mercedes are planning to overchange their fortunes this season. If not Red Bull, Aston Martin is their target. In fact, Mercedes has made some significant strides, as the Silver Arrows are only six points away from their new competition.
Fernando Alonso praises Red Bull
But with Alonso picking podiums, Aston Martin has failed to challenge Red Bull even briefly. This gap tells the hegemony the Milton-Keynes-based team is enjoying. Talking about Alonso is full of praise for Red Bull’s CTO Adrian Newey.
The 41-year-old F1 driver hails Alonso for creating one of the greatest cars ever. His current production is also being hyped as the most dominant car ever, as it is yet to lose this season.
Well…while the commitment is much deeper, ‘principally’ he (@iamwill) does have a point there..😋#F1 #MiamiGP #iamwill #RedBullRacing #FerrariF1 #MercedesAMGF1 pic.twitter.com/gLoRHHoPfy

However, Alonso thinks that in Monaco or Spain, Aston Martin has a chance to get their first-ever win. Well, fans are at least waiting for Red Bull to slip for once this season.
