Ferrari are using a secret and rare Shell fuel to boost performance and beat Mercedes
Ferrari’s impressive package this season has caught the eye of the entire F1 fraternity. After years of Mercedes domination, finally their Italian rivals have stepped upto the plat and dished out a package that is good enough to outpace Mercedes.
The results haven’t really shown the kind of advantage that Ferrari actually possess, but that has largely been due to strategic and driver related blunders.
The FIA has also looked into the functioning of the Ferrari package, one that was ‘reportedly’ ordered by Mercedes. However, FIA had concluded that Ferrari were not taking advantage of any loopholes in the system.

Now, according to a research conducted by AMuS, Ferrari is using a different gasoline as compared to its customer teams, one that has a special and rare additive.
According to the rules, suppliers need to provide their customers with the same oil and gasoline, unless refused.
Now, Shell has found a rare additive, one that is expensive to produce and can be provided for only two cars. Hence, Ferrari have somehow managed to get Haas and Sauber to agree to opting out of getting that special fuel.
Now, both Mercedes and Ferrari have introduced their new spec 3 engine for Spa and the final phase of the season promises to be really interesting.
What do you think about this new, secret additive that Ferrari is using?
