“What a Spell”: Jasprit Bumrah Praises Akash Madhwal For Accomplishing Best Bowling Figures in IPL PLayoffs
India and Mumbai Indians star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has joined the list of eminent cricketers in congratulating Akash Madhwal, who has just wreaked havoc with the ball in hand at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
With aplenty stars partaking in Indian Premier League 2023 Eliminator, it was Madhwal who owned the entire spotlight tonight after he returned with the best bowling figures (3.3-0-5-5) ever in the history of IPL playoffs.
Not only did he accomplish his maiden five-wicket haul in the T20 format, but his match-winning performance helped the Indians register a one-sided 81-run victory against Lucknow Super Giants.
The win has taken Mumbai to the final step of the staircase towards the grand finale, with now only Gujarat Titans standing in their way to join Chennai Super Kings for the ultimate clash in Ahmedabad.
Jasprit Bumrah Praises Akash Madhwal For Accomplishing Best Bowling Figures in IPL Playoffs
Having last tweeted on December 30, 2022, a not-so-active Bumrah on Twitter could have not missed an opportunity to praise Madhwal for coming up with a bowling performance of such quality. Bumrah, who has been out of action for eight months now, congratulated the 29-year-old for his fiery spell and the team on a top win.
What a spell from Akash Madhwal🔥🔥🔥. Congratulations @mipaltan, great win 🙌🏾

Having given away those five runs at 1.4 runs per over, the Roorkee-born fast bowler also registered the most economical five-for ever in the tournament’s history. He broke former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Anil Kumble‘s previous lowest economy rate record of 1.57. For the unversed, Kumble had returned with figures of 3.1-1-5-5 against Rajasthan Royals.
Madhwal’s figures have now also placed him at the fifth spot in the list of best bowling figures in IPL history.
