London Weather Now: Weather At Lord’s Today For ENG vs AUS 2nd Test Day 1
All eyes always remain on the weather whenever there is a cricket match in England. The second match of Ashes 2023 will be played at Lord’s and rain is expected to play an unwanted part in this match as well. We can already see overcast conditions even before play has started on Day 1.
For the unversed, the first Test in Birmingham was also affected by bad weather. While only 32.4 overs were bowled on Day 3, the whole of first session of the final day was washed out. It was because of England’s aggressive approach that a result was possible in the match and they got a lot of stick for the same.
The temperature is rising in London and BBC recently predicted that the city could be hit by rain and thunderstorms amidst the soaring temperature. Weather is expected to be on the warmer side during the second Test but there are possibilities of the match getting affected by climatic conditions.
London Weather Now
Ahead of the toss, London witnessed some drizzle, and hovercraft covers were required to cover the pitch. It is not raining at the moment but there are dark skies all around the ground.
It is very gloomy at the moment and looking at the pitch, the overhead conditions may influence the captain at the toss. The teams will have to play keeping the future forecast in mind. Getting a full uninterrupted game on each day is looking difficult.

According to the reliable weather portal Accuweather, there are very few chances of rain on Day 1. The drizzle before the toss was unexpected as well and it should stay away from the game throughout the day’s play. If everything goes well, no overs will be lost today and the action won’t be affected in any way. Having said that, there are high chances of rain after stumps today.
