Hamilton posts video of the Vettel crash in Monza, fans attack him for being insensitive
Lewis Hamilton had one of the best races of his life in Monza, winning in Ferrari territory by overcoming the stiff challenge from Vettel and Raikkonen.
The Ferrari duo were clearly quicker than Lewis, thanks to the incredible package that Ferrari have dished out this year, but Lewis’ brilliant overtaking manoeuvres meant that both Kimi and Vettel had to settle for way less than what was expected of them.
Hamilton and Vettel had a slight incident during lap 1, when the two WDC rivals collided, with Vettel spinning round and having to start from the back of the pack.
Going into Turn 4 on lap 1, Hamilton was hunting down Vettel, who was covering the inside, whereas Hamilton decided to take the racing line. Vettel however, wasn’t ready to give up space and hence ended up colliding with Hamilton and being pushed to the back of the pack.
Now, Vettel and some Ferrari fans did criticise Hamilton for the incident, as Vettel felt he had no place to go, leaving some bitterness in the air with his rival.
That bitterness is sure to go up a notch as Hamilton posted a video of that crash on his Instagram account, agitating a lot of Ferrari fans, as they felt Hamilton did not need to focus on that one incident.
It seemed to a lot of them that he was mocking Vettel and that shouldn’t have been the way to go about it.

Hamilton then came up with an explanation for his post, responding to all the ‘negativity’ that he found in the comments section with respect to it.

Hamilton has often been criticised for being a little too out there with his comments on social media and in his media addresses as well.
But like always, he should put this behind him and will pose a massive threat to Ferrari and Vettel in Singapore, now with a 30 point gap at the top of the driver’s standings.
A win at Singapore for Hamilton could in a large way seal the WDC for him, making it his 5th. Vettel needs to put in a strong show in order to stay relevant in the fight.
