Barcelona target left-backs: Barca eyeing Nacho, Alberto Moreno
Barcelona target left-backs Nacho Monreal and Alberto Moreno from the Premier League, according to Spanish outlet.
Barcelona are targeting Premier League left-backs Nacho Monreal and Alberto Moreno as cover for Jordi Alba, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde is increasingly worried about the lack of depth in the squad, especially in defence. His worry deepened when Lucas Digne left Barcelona this summer to join Everton.
With no big options for Barcelona, the Catalan club has decided to look for free transfers in order to improve the squad depth. And Mundo Deportivo has claimed that they are eyeing Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno and Arsenal’s Nacho Monreal.
Alberto Moreno is not a first-choice left-back for Liverpool, while Nacho Monreal may have featured for Arsenal this year, but his inclusion was forced due to injury to Maitland-Niles.
According to Mundo Deportivo, both the defenders will be available for minimal fee in the January transfer window, with their contracts set to expire in 2019.
Jordi Alba was not in the Spain’s international squad during the break, but Barcelona don’t want to take risks during injuries.

I just might be one of the few people that’s happy with Jordi Alba not being called up for Spain. He rests more, better for Barcelona. Couldn’t care less about Lucho or anyone else there.
