Hours After $218,000,000 Announcement by Ex-teammate’s Franchise, Stephen Curry Spotted at Summer League with 6ft 7″ Jonathan Kuminga
The Golden State Warriors were one of the many teams involved in a blockbuster trade after the start of free agency. Despite Jonathan Kuminga being one of the rumored names available in the market, it was Jordan Poole who was sent in a package that helped the Warriors acquire Chris Paul. Just a day after the trade got finalized, the Washington Wizards got Poole and Kyle Kuzma to sign their respective paperwork. While the newest Wizards Guard will be paid $128 million over the next four years, Kuzma signed a four-year $90 million extension as well, amounting the total amount spent by the Washington side to be $218,000,000. Hours after the two signings were done, Stephen Curry was seen at the Golden State Warriors’ Summer League game sitting alongside his 6-foot-7 Dubs teammate Jonathan Kuminga.
The Wizards traded away two important figures, Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis, of their franchise this summer. With the re-signing of Kuz and the acquisition of JP, the Wizards’ intentions are clear – to allow these two talented players to lead a young squad during the rebuild. From what their comments suggest, the newly-formed duo cannot wait to share the court together.
Stephen Curry attends the Golden State Warriors’ Summer League Game
It isn’t uncommon to see NBA stars sitting courtside at Summer League Games, cheering their team on. In the first few weeks of the Summer League, we have seen Kyrie Irving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and many other established personalities grace the occasion. Stephen Curry became the latest superstar to do so.
During the Bay Area side’s contest against the New Orleans Pelicans, Curry was seen next to Jonathan Kuminga sitting courtside. Considering a potential increase in his role following Poole’s departure, Kuminga must’ve had an in-depth conversation with Steph. Have a look at @ohnohedidnt24’s tweet.

Later, the two Warriors stars were joined by Gary Payton II and the newest signing Chris Paul. Take a look at warriorstalk’s Instagram post.

Unfortunately, the Warriors’ Summer League squad wasn’t able to grab a win. Despite Lester Quinones’ efficient 26-point outing, Dyson Daniels’ 17-point near-triple-double performance propelled the Pelicans to a 94-86 win.
Poole talks about his bond with the Splash Brothers
Fans often regarded Jordan Poole as Steph’s successor or the third Splash Brother. The bond he’s created over the last four years with the two GSW Guards is extremely special. After signing the paperwork that finalized his move to the Wizards, Poole spoke about his relationship with Steph and Klay Thompson. Take a look at what Poole had to say in Anthony Slater’s tweet.
“I can text Steph. I can text Klay… Have a conversation. That doesn’t leave. That doesn’t go anywhere.”
Further, the 6-foot-4 combo guard even joked about knowing a majority of the Warriors’ plays.

To be fair, Poole was a huge part of the San Francisco side’s offensive rotation. It is pretty safe to say that he probably has their entire playbook memorized by now. Clearly, we can expect Steve Kerr to draw out some new plays during the Warriors’ matchup against the Wizards.
