After Their Political Feud, UFC Star Once Vowed to Beat 6′9″ LeBron James Under ‘10 Seconds’: “If That Coward Had…”
Often people dwell in conversations about how NBA athletes would fare in UFC. The likes of Shaquille O’Neal and 6’9” LeBron James are one of the names which come up the most. UFC commentator Joe Rogan gave his opinion on how they would do in UFC. On the topic, James was involved in a heated altercation with a UFC star who vowed that he will beat the ‘coward’ within 10 seconds.
LeBron James’ influence transcends well beyond NBA as he has inspired a few UFC stars as well. One of them was UFC’s biggest star, Conor McGregor. McGregor was impressed by the $1 million fitness regimen of the Lakers star and implemented it himself.
However, not every UFC star gets along with James. One of the UFC star due to his political feud made a threat to beat up the NBA player.
Colby Covington vowed to beat LeBron James within 10 seconds
‘Chaos‘ was not quite happy with James. Covington made his feeling vocal as he spoke about James during UFC Vegas 11 post-fight interview. He called James a ‘woke athlete’ and a ‘spineless coward’. Despite the 6’9” stature of the NBA superstar Covington backs himself and his abilities to dispatch the NBA legend within 10 seconds.
Covington said, “LOL at the snowflakes that believe @KingJames could even last 10 seconds with me! If that coward had the ba*ls or the ability to kick anyone’s a*s, Delonte West would’ve lost his teeth long before his me*h habit!“

Covington earlier dedicated his fight and victory over Woodley to the first responders and military during the pandemic. After the warm gesture, he then fired shots at the ‘woke athletes’ such as LeBron James. However, James wasn’t one to hold back after being provoked.
James hit back at Covington for ‘Coward’ comments
During the game against Denver Nuggets James dropped 26 points including 11 rebounds. After the game, James addressed the Covington comments and gave his response on the matter.
James said, “Anybody, can talk trash from the outside but when it comes to the real crunch decisions, 10 out of 10 times, they sh*t their pants.“
Clearly, the NBA star was addressing the comments made by the Miami fighter. These were fighting comments and James’ physique will be a problem for any fighter. Rogan once spoke about how amazing James would be if he ever fought in the UFC. It would have been certainly interesting to see James go head-to-head against Covington.
