Vettel talks about the remainder of the season
Sebastian Vettel is up against it in his title challenge against Lewis Hamilton, as mistakes on part of the German and Ferrari have ensured a 40 point lead for Hamilton going into the last 6 races of the season.
Vettel has been criticised for his mistakes, especially the one’s that he made in France, Monza and Germany.
Vettel still can win the WDC on his own, but he’ll have to win all of the remaining races to do so, else he’ll have to depend on Hamilton slipping up.
The Ferrari man is still confident of winning the WDC, as he has done it 4 times in his career, and believes that he still has the car, the skill and the confidence to do so. ‘
“First: Because I can. I proved that four times. Second, because we have a car that I can play with and that is on par with Mercedes. Third place in Singapore did not help. But still, we can only beat ourselves. That’s a good starting position. I can still become world champion on my own and I’ll keep fighting.” Vettel said in an interview with Sport Bild.
Vettel has maintained an aggressive style of racing, one that has helped him win 4 titles. The German confirms that he won’t hold back and will keep driving aggressively.
“My driving style has already given me four world titles and 52 victories,” he explains.
“Do you want something to go wrong in life? No. Everyone is afraid to fail. I would like to meet the person who does not have that. And of course, I’m aware that with a certain dose of risk sometimes something can go wrong. But if you let the fear dictate your way too much, it paralyzes you and is not fun. Ayrton Senna once said, ‘If I can not get into the gap that’s there, I’m not a racing driver anymore.’ I can only agree” he added.
Do you think Vettel can win the WDC?
