Hamilton responds to questions about ‘one hand on the title’
Lewis Hamilton goes into the last phase of the 2018 season with a 40 point advantage over Sebastian Vettel, his closest rival in the race for WDC 2018.
Hamilton is geared up for the final surge and feels that he is focussed and motivated to wrap up the title, but is aware about the Ferrari challenge, one that refuses to go away.
Hamilton thus is keeping his head down and is working hard to stay in the moment and not think about the title.
When asked if he felt that he already had one hand on the title, Hamilton said that one can’t really have one hand on the title, as you either have both hands on it or you don’t.
“I don’t think you ever have one hand on it – you either have both hands on it or you don’t,” Hamilton responded to the one-hand on the title question.
“Six races are still a lot of races, it’s a long season. We’re really just head down, everyone’s working incredibly hard to continue to improve the car.”

“There is still a long way to go. A lot of points available. Six races is still a lot of races. The job, the target and the approach is still exactly the same.” he added.
Hamilton stressed on the fact that he felt stronger, healthier and happier. He had spent enough time with his loved ones and was in a good space altogether.
“I feel healthy, happier and stronger than ever,” the Mercedes driver said
“It still feels like it has been a long year. It has been the most challenging year fighting against another four-time world champion. The stakes are as high as they have ever been.
“But I have had plenty of time to myself, and some really good quality time with family. I also got to see some beautiful places and get some good training in, too, so I do feel really good for this last stint.” he added.
