Williams have released their new livery ahead of the 2020 F1 season. This comes after their split with sponsor Rokit

Williams Racing have unveiled its revamped livery ahead of the first race in Austria next week.

What does the Williams livery look like?

The Grove-based outfit has split with title sponsor ROKit, and hence has revamped its color scheme. They revealed its first look yesterday, with the official launch taking place today. Its driver George Russel and Nicholas Latifi have branded the color scheme ‘smart’.

The revamped white-and-blue livery features increased branding Canadian company Sofina, and technology company Acronis.

The front of the rear wing features the Williams name, with expectation that it would be replaced with the name of the new prime sponsor.

Williams have had a troublesome last two seasons, featuring last in both. They would be hoping Russell and Latifi do a turnaround this season.

Rokit break ties with Williams; join hands with Mercedes

Williams are on the lookout for investors to help them stay afloat in F1. Apart from that, they are also looking for sponsors for the season.

This is after Williams and Rokit decided to terminate their agreement, for reasons unspecified yet. The latter has joined Mercedes instead, shocking the Williams hierarchy.

Rokit has also confirmed its split with Williams won’t have any impact on its title partnerships with Venturi in Formula E and the W Series.

Deputy team principal Claire Williams spoke on their future prospects, and sounded optimistic.

“Williams has always done a good job of attracting new partners into our sport, into our team and I believe and have every confidence that we will continue to do so.

“This is a great brand. It is a great team. And we’re on a very exciting journey.”
