Sahara Force India owed £175 to ‘Hire a Princess’
Sahara Force India owed £175 to ‘Hire a Princess’, something that has been revealed post the administrators statement about the sale.
Force India have had quite an eventful year in F1, attempting to distance themselves from the midfield in the first half of the season and then fighting for survival during the summer break.
Ever since news about Force India being forced into administration broke out, there was a slight possibility of Force India having to shut down altogether.
Sergio Perez and a few of the other creditors had initiated the legal proceedings against Force India, a move that initially was thought out to be a bad one, especially on the outside.
However, later Perez confirmed how it was important to take that step in order to save close to 400 jobs.
Now, according to the reports by the administrators, the Lawrence Stroll consortium paid £90 million ($118m) in order to get the team out of administration.
“[FRP] took into account the importance of retaining key staff, the fact that staff were shortly to return from their summer holidays, with the upcoming race in Belgium due to take place a few days after their return [so FRP] took a commercial decision to avoid the risk of a significant loss in the value of the business and assets.” the statement from the administrators read.
Now, a reddit user has spotted something really weird in the Force India books, where in the team owes £175 to ‘Hire a Princess’.
Probably the Force India management had hired a princess for one of their employees kids’ birthday. But this is funny and intriguing nonetheless.
