2 Months After Stating 21 Reasons Why Michael Jordan Is The GOAT, Shaquille O’Neal Shares Draymond Green’s Take On LeBron James Being Number 1
Shaquille O’Neal is an extremely active social media user. The man is often seen posting hypothetical battles on his Instagram feed, asking his followers for their opinions. The TNT analyst also shares interesting facts and different opinions in the form of reels and memes on his Story. Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers legend took to Instagram, sharing Draymond Green’s explanation as to why he’d select LeBron James over Michael Jordan.
Shaquille O’Neal loves hearing numerous takes on the infamous GOAT debate. Just two months ago, Shaq shared a graphic on his Story that dished out 21 reasons behind Michael Jordan’s selection as the GOAT. However, O’Neal has now shared a reel in which Draymond Green picked LeBron James over the Chicago Bulls legend.
Draymond Green picks LeBron James over Michael Jordan
Back in 2022, Draymond Green made an appearance on the “Throwing Bones” podcast and was asked to reveal his all-time top 5 players list. The Golden State Warriors didn’t have to think quite hard. Answering Juan Toscano-Anderson, the four-time NBA Champ put LeBron James as his #1 pick. Green then went on to list Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, and Shaquille O’Neal as his next picks in order.
“My Top 5 is LJ number one, MJ number two, Kobe number three, Steph number four, and Shaq number five.”
One of the members of the panel seemed a bit surprised that the former Michigan State Spartan named LBJ over MJ. However, the forward had an immediate response prepared. Lauding the Los Angeles Lakers superstar for his longevity, Dray also claimed that Bron’s competition was much more difficult than His Airness’ competition.
“Bron started in ’03. By 2005, Bron was the best player in the NBA. In 2020, he was still the best player in the NBA. He was the best player in the NBA no matter what the game did. There’s nobody that has ever played the game of basketball that can do what LeBron James does. Going to the Finals year after year after year, like this sh*t’s gruelling. MJ took a break right in the heat of that shit. Bron ain’t,” Green explained.

Shaquille O’Neal could’ve added this reel to his story for a couple of reasons. One, as we previously mentioned, the Big Aristotle is a huge fan of different takes on the GOAT debate. Hence, by resharing Green’s comments, Shaq is just trying to get new perspectives into the debate. Two, Shaq could’ve felt compelled to share the clip on his Story considering he was one of the five players that the defensive specialist praised.

Considering that there is no one undisputed winner for the prestigious title, the GOAT debate is an endless argument. Fans have been getting involved in this heated quarrel for the past several years and will not be putting the topic to rest anytime soon.
LeBron James tells Shaquille O’Neal that he’s the GOAT
LeBron James achieved one of the most spectacular feats in NBA history this past campaign. On February 8th, playing against the Oklahoma City Thunder, LBJ recorded 38 points. While dropping 38 points, the four-time MVP managed to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
Answering Shaq, LeBron did disclose that he believed he was the GOAT. In the postgame interview, LBJ seemed pretty humble as he hyped himself:
“Me personally, imma take myself. Imma take myself against anybody that has ever played this game.”
.@SHAQ: “Does this now make you the greatest player of all time?”@KingJames: “I’m gonna take myself against anybody that’s ever played this game. … I always feel like I’m the best to ever play this game.” pic.twitter.com/5mzrZ59GTG

Being speculated to play in the league for a couple of more seasons, LeBron has a good shot at clinching a few more impressive feats and solidifying himself as the undisputed GOAT.
