WATCH: Lewis Hamilton gets asked a question by reporter called Fernando Alonso
Lewis Hamilton secured his 5th world title after the Mexican GP came to an end on Sunday.
Hamilton was obviously ecstatic after the win, humbled to have achieved one of the greatest feats in motorsport.
And while Hamilton would have thoroughly enjoyed his post race celebrations, he couldn’t have had more fun than when he was asked a question by a reporter called Fernando Alonso.
During Lewis’ press conference in Mexico, a reporter from Motor LAT, identified himself as Fernando Alonso, with Hamilton stopping him right there and double checking if his name was that indeed.
The reporter replied saying that it was a bit longer than that but he preferred it this way.
Lewis and the entire press room burst into a ruckus of laughter, amazed by what had just transpired in the press conference.
As the laughter subsided and the journalist tried to go ahead with his question, Lewis stopped him and said that he had never thought he would be asked questions by Fernando Alonso.
The reporter replied saying, ‘A pleasure for myself’.
The conversation did not stop there, with Lewis asking him if he could drive. The reporter, a little embarrassed by the entire sequence said that he could drive but not that fast.
