WATCH: Indian team celebrates the series win vs Windies
Indian team celebrates the series win vs Windies: The Indian won the series comprehensive manner against Windies.
During the fifth match of the ongoing Windies’ tour of India at Thiruvananthapuram, India defeated Windies by 9 wickets to seal the series 3-1. There is no hiding to the fact that India were expected to win the series, however, what happened midway was highly unanticipated.
Having won the first match by 8 wickets at Guwahati, India seemed to convert their Test form in limited-overs as well. That being said, what followed was a reality check for the hosts as Windies ended up drawing the second match at Visakhapatnam and winning the third one at Pune.
With the series level at 1-1 and two more ODIs to go, it was anyone’s game from that point in the series. It was at this point in time that India stepped up their game, coming back to win the next two ODIs, at Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram, respectively.
In a video posted by the official social media accounts of the Indian Cricket Team, the players were seen enjoying the victory on their return to the team hotel. Captain Virat Kohli was given a bouquet by a member of the hotel staff followed by the customary cake-cutting ceremony.
It was vice-captain Rohit Sharma who cut the cake and put in on all-rounder Kedar Jadhav’s face. Standing next to Sharma was Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who asked another teammate to burst a balloon next to Sharma’s ears, something which took him by shock and became the source of laughter for others.

Which was the real Windies. The one that tied at Vizag and won at Pune. Or the one that was annihilated at Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram? #IndvWI
