BREAKING: MS Dhoni feels Jammu and Kashmir player will soon play for India
MS Dhoni has been enjoying his off days in the Kashmir valley, attending cricketing events, meeting with the Indian army, visiting schools and talking to budding cricketers in the region about fitness.
Speaking about the state of sport in J&K, Dhoni said that young players from the region have a very good chance of playing for the country, just like Parvez Rasool did.
He also mentioned that the people in the region will need to learn how to live with the army and that education is really important for all kids living here.
“As far as sports is concerned, it is important to have a platform, but after that the players have to work really hard. Our country is huge and many people play cricket. The aim should be to represent the country for which you have to consistently perform at first class level. Even if there are not such facilities here, but when we were playing it was not that we had many facilities,” said MS Dhoni.
MS Dhoni then brought in a very important point about the IPL and how people from J&K can use it as a platform to showcase their talent and get picked for the national team. He feels that if the players can channelise their energies in the best possible way, a lot of them can make it to the national set up.
“There will be players [to represent India] from here in future. There are players here who will play many matches. In IPL, the combination is also seen in a way which team needs what type of combination and accordingly the team is formed. What is important is players give more than 100 per cent and perform well,” he concluded
