WATCH: New, low angle of Sophia Floersch’s crash shows what led to the car being airborne
Sophia Floersch has been in the motorsport headlines for the past day now, having suffered one of the worst motorsport crashes in a long time, when her airborne car rammed into the bunker for photographers, adjacent to the grand stand.
Floersch suffered severe injuries, and she along with two photographers and a marshal were rushed to the hospital in the aftermath of the incident.
The video of her car flying into the bumker was shot from the grandstand and immediately went viral on social media, with people horrified by the extent of the damage done during the accident.

However, none of the video footage from last night or early morning today confirmed as to how and why Floersch’s car went airborne.
But a new, low angle of the crash shows that Sophia’s car had actually come in contact with Jehan Daruvala’s car, which was slowing down because of a mistakenly shown yellow flag. The car then hit the barrier, came back to hit another car and then went airborne
Sophia is presently undergoing surgery, as confirmed by her representatives on twitter. Her father confirmed in an interview with the Motorsport Magazin that she hadn’t suffered any spinal cord damage.
