WATCH: Virat Kohli unhappy with umpires for not stopping match during rain
Virat Kohli unhappy with umpires: The Indian captain was seen arguing with the umpire regarding the game not being stopped.
During the second T20I of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Melbourne, India captain Virat Kohli was seen quarreling with the umpire after the match wasn’t stopped despite heavy rain falling on the ground.
In a match which ended up being called-off due to rain, weather was playing a spoilsport since the commencement, with all possible weather conditions on display.
It all happened in the 19th over of the Australian innings when Bumrah was bowling despite showers pouring from the sky. With the rain starting from the first ball itself, the umpires looked in no mood of stopping the match for getting done with the overs must have been on their mind.
It was at this point in time that Kohli went up to the umpire with his query. Once the Indian captain reached the umpire, he was seen arguing with him. The umpires somehow made sure that the over gets completed and by this time, the rain has increased to the extent that the play had to be stopped.
Playing the game of cricket in such a condition can have its own ramifications for the fielding team. Right from a risk of an injury to any player to the pitch becoming difficult to bat the second time round, Kohli was well within his right as a captain to ask the umpire to stop the game.
Kohli’s actions might have been portrayed as an act of aggression but he ended up earning support from former Australian captain Michael Clarke who was commentating at that time. Watch the full video below:

After being put in to bat by India, Australia lost wickets at regular intervals to an extent that the prospects of getting bowled out were looking real. Before the players went off, Australia had scored 132-7 in 19 overs on the back of contributions from the lower order batsmen.
Ben McDermott, who came in to bat at No. 6 in the seventh over, top-scored with 32* (30). With bowling figures of 3-0-20-2, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was India’s pick of the bowlers.

Melbourne or Mumbai? MCG crowd about 85/15 in favour of India. Huge support for the visiting team. Would be a terribly low crowd otherwise #AUSvIND
