Formula 1’s social media handler is turning into a real memelord
Formula 1 has taken to social media really well this season, investing highly into getting a good social media presence in order to appeal to young fans all over the world.
Liberty Media came into the sport with a vision, a vision to make this a global sport, and for that they needed to have a systematic plan with social media, something that has the largest influence on millennials.
Thus, F1 has upped its social media game, across all media and while the twitter and Instagram accounts have been the most active one’s, the youtube one isn’t falling too behind.
Last week during the F1 driver of the year vote, Sergey Sirotkin was voted as the driver of the year and the F1 youtube account did not quite forget that.

The F1 youtube account handler is turning into a meme lord of his own and while a few F1 fans love the fact that Liberty and F1 are embracing the social media world, the others worry that this could dilute the F1 brand.
While during the season, F1 did have a lot of social media stuff to put up, it will be interesting to see how the F1 social media team tackles the off season, and if it can really come up with interesting stuff, apart from the year round up and of course, Despacito 2.
From a fan perspective, we can only hope that they keep it funny and a little mellow, so as to not spoil the fun going into the new season.
