Alain Prost’s career summed up by 4chan
Alain Prost has been one of the most unfortunate drivers in Formula 1, despite having won 4 World titles.
The Frenchman could have won a few more titles had luck favoured him but the most heartbreaking thing for Prost has to be that he is often considered the villain in that famous Senna-Prost rivalry, despite not having done much wrong.
He started off his career at McLaren, winning one point in his inaugural F1 race. However, his McLaren career did not go according to plan as he suffered multiple DNFs and somehow the team blamed it on him.
He moved onto Renault where he did enjoy some success but couldn’t really win the championship.
In 1984 he made the move back to McLaren and lost out to Lauda in a controversy ridden season, but came storming back in the next two seasons, winning the world title.
It was after those two ‘world title’ seasons that the Prost-Senna rivalry really started to flourish, as the duo were having a lot of of issues on and off the track.
Post Senna’s death and after the movie came out, Prost was portrayed as the villain despite not having intentionally done much wrong. The rivalry was such that it brought out the worst and the best in both individuals but in the end Prost was the one who had to bear the brunt of public agony.
‘4chan’ has absolutely nailed Prost’ career in a very witty and on-point post.

What do you make of Prost’s career? And do you rate him above Senna in terms of pure driving skill?
